Father's Day

Father's Day was a wonderful day for my sweet hubby, besides the fact that I did NOT get his present wrapped...... T was into the giving daddy a present, he gladly brought daddy his gift to him (a set of golf balls) and giggled as he gave it to him.

We came home after church and had a relaxing afternoon and then ran a couple of errands and stopped by A's parents to drop of his dad's father's day gift and his mom's birthday gift..... T even "helped" while I wrapped the gifts for A's parents, he deposited a couple of things in the sack to A's mom from my gift closet.

T has such a wonderful daddy, I married such a wonderful man. He's a little silly, a little cute (actually, he's VERY HANDSOME) and a little mischievous, and most importantly A SOLID CHRISTIAN MAN, he stands for what is right in all things and makes no bones about he is 100% mine and T's FOREVER!!!!

Last year he lost his job and decided what's a dad to do but follow his heart and he went back to teaching Pre-K and a position happened to be available at T's Daycare so he gets to be with T all day long. They see each other off and on all day! I don't know alot of women that could be with a bunch of kids under Kindergarten all day and still love being with there own toddler!!!!!

T and daddy are the best of friends! They chase each other, dance together, kiss and hug mommy together! I love to just sit back and watch them both laugh at whatever they are doing, in the end I'm laughing also. Sometimes I listen to the conversations between A and T and A tells him "let's pray" and T repeats "pray" or A will say "let's get ready for church" and T says "church." Most mornings the first thing we hear from T is "DADDY" and if we don't appear PRONTO we hear "MOMMY" and then sometimes we hear giggling (which makes me giggle)!

But I know that Daddy is the first thing on his mind and at this time in T's life I would not have it any other way, because MY HUSBAND is a man of HONOR, VALOR and tries everyday to live as Christ and what I see is a little boy already wanting to be with and act like such a great man of God and it warms this mommy's heart that T is already learning to do the right things.

THE ER -------- and Mommy needs a PHD

What do you do when your child is sick, that is the question? Well let's see first you access the situation and then when it's the weekend you re-access and call in for back up because you NEVER want to wind up in the Emergency Room, right? Ok let's see we assessed, drool and slight diaper rash and not wanting to eat......... that would be teething, right (especially when its about time for those 2 year molars to come in)? T does not eat when he is teething, he only drinks for a day or two and it must be something VERY COLD.

Ok, now for the calling in for backup....... Since he had no fever, despite the fact he had not slept Saturday night, we went to church Sunday and assessed with a couple of the other mom's. A and I worked in the nursery during church that Sunday and just about the time our Children's Director walked up T turned pale (VERY PALE) and we all noticed. However, he only had a slight rash and was drooling......

By the time we got home from church his rash got worse, so I'm thinking "WE JUST INFECTED THE ENTIRE NURSERY WITH CHICKEN POX, no T has had his vacine??????" Now we re-access and call for backup of the GRANDMA kind. We all agree, a trip to the ER is waranted.

Off to the ER we go and receive the following diagnosis (9 hours later), "We don't know what's wrong with him, it's not strep and it's not the Chicken Pox but we know he's not contagious." All together now "HOW CAN YOU SAY HE IS NOT CONTAGIOUS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS?" This was what we got from the second doctor in the ER.

What's a mother to do???????? Send her husband to take the baby to the Pediatrician and receive WHAT??????? The same diagnosis........ Ok mommy has had it????? I called the Doctor back and said in these exact words "How can you tell us you don't know what he has but you know he is not contagious? And what if what he DOES have you are not giving him the right antibotic for?" Let's see, what could they say but "BRING HIM BACK." So A takes T back to the Pediatrician with my note in hand and T has what I thought after reading some more about his "rash" - HAND, FOOT AND MOUTH. Oh and by the way, they told us on Sunday that he was no longer contagious, however, with Hand, Foot and Mouth you are contagious for 48 hours after the drool and fever stop; it was not until Tuesday night that he was no longer contagious........ And, he needed an additional antibotic for Hand, Foot and Mouth! Thank goodness Daddy had a few days of vacation!!!!

Mommy deserves an honory PHD....
