Surgery and Hospital Sue
I had surgery to remove the lump in my neck on Thursday, September 7th. I'm recovering quite well, my lymph node and a "tumor" the size of a large orange were removed. We were so thankful that the surgery was scheduled for Thursday as they removed the mass and it immediately opened up once out of my neck; the antibiotics were not working so the mass just kept growing. Even the Surgeon was "leaping" that he got it out in time. I was awoken after surgery to the sound of my WONDERFUL FRIEND Melissa (I was unaware that she had transferred to that surgery center) so as I was coming around I thought I know this voice and was shocked to open my eyes and find this wonderful nurse and friend at my side. She told us that she saw my name on the surgery list and said "I've been praying for her so I'm taking care of her."
Friday was a little tense as the surgeons inserted a drain during surgery to continue to drain any further infection and nothing was coming out so after updates throughout the day to the Doctor I was literally "rushed" to the Doctors office at 4:30 p.m. As the drain had to be emptied several times a day my mom offered to keep me at her house. My wonderful husband A held down our little fort, he took wonderful care of T and even called in for back up (his parents and sister) to have the house clean for me when I returned home.
A says I had to stay at HOSPITAL SUE...... my mom said that she did much grosser things than empty a drain to my brother and I before and after heart surgery. While at Hospital Sue's I was allowed unlimited phone calls and visitors and NO SPORTS or LAW AND ORDER or SHOWS I SIMPLY DON'T LIKE and A DOES (I love everything about my hubby, except about 95% of his TV and Movie choices).
After my visit with the Doctor today the drain was removed and so I WAS ABLE TO COME HOME WITH A & T..... Please pray for my continued recovery, what we did not expect was that they would have to severe a nerve in my neck and that I will have no feeling from my chin to my ear for at least 6 months; the stitches will come out on Monday. The most important prayer request is that I still cannot lift my precious T, it breaks my heart and T is too little to understand what is going on.
The Doctors decided to do a 3rd test for cancer and the results are still not back, there is still a chance that the cancer was hiding back there.
My mom is sooooo funny, she is dieting (for those of you who know her, I know, I know, she does not need it, she just wanted to loose 15 pounds; WHATEVER) so she said, I'm not making different things for you, so you can be on my diet. It actually was not that bad, good food, plus my mom waited on me hand and foot and I got some new make up and p.j.'s, T got new clothes and A got BURGERS made JUST FOR HIM out of the deal...... Hey what's up with that, I'm the one that had surgery and he's the one that gets a special meal made just for him......... OH WELL HE DESERVED A MEAL FOR A KING, HE HAS BEEN THE KING OF WONDERFULNESS........ I have such a fabulous husband.

Angie,
You have been on my mind & in my prayers. Thank you for the update. I remember how wonderful your mom was when I lived there & I am glad to know she hasn't changed. Moms are such a blessing!
